THE NIA 2023 INTAKE CALL IS NOW CLOSED.
The recruitment call for the 2023 intake to the NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) opened on 1 September 2022 and closed at 23:59 on 28 October 2022.
Chaired by Professor Stephen Powis, National Medical Director of NHS England, the NIA is an award-winning NHS England initiative, delivered in partnership with the 15 Academic Health Science Networks and hosted at UCLPartners. Since 2015, the NIA has played a pivotal role in helping innovations scale and in delivering insights to the health and social care system. Over 2,800 NHS sites are using NIA innovations, and over £195m has been raised in external funding to support better patient outcomes.
The NIA was created to deliver on the commitment detailed within the Five Year Forward View and the more recent NHS Long Term Plan, helping to create the conditions and cultural change necessary for proven innovations to be adopted faster and more systematically through the NHS, and to deliver examples into practice for demonstrable patient and population benefit. The NIA directly supports the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan as its core purpose is to support the wider take-up of evidence-based innovation already in use.
